" The contribution of the early years provision to the well-being of children is outstanding." - Ofsted

Not only are we graded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in every area of the care and learning requirements, but we are also the only Day Nursery in the area to be awarded the Millie’s Mark accreditation - a gold standard award for paediatric first aid.

Welcome

The Wendy House, Impington, Cambridge is situated at Fieldstead Farm in Impington. This is a totally unique setting with unrivalled open space and natural resources. The building itself is a converted barn which has been lovingly restored into a stunning space for children. The Nursery is situated just a few minutes from the A14 and A10 (J32/J33) between Cambridge and Ely in the village of Impington, so is perfectly located for many commuter routes.

A child's surroundings are vital to their well-being and overall development, which is why both our Nurseries are set in lovely rural locations, surrounded by open fields, yet both easily accessible to main commuter routes. We took time searching for our premises and are confident that we have got it right. The building is a large barn conversion, overlooking our very own meadow and woodland area.

Many things set The Wendy House apart from other local settings and we are proud to be unique. We have our very own Forest School, affectionately known as 'Wendy Wood', an amazing woodland camp where children can climb, explore and learn about their surroundings and enjoy homemade soup around the campfire! Further to this, we also have an amazing Conservation Cabin – an outdoor classroom that all the children, regardless of age, can use to focus their activities on conservation and the natural environment. We also have a large Meadow, a truly wonderful area to develop our passion for outdoor learning. On top of all this we also have an on-site allotment - we LOVE to be outdoors!

The success and excellent reputation the Nursery enjoys is very much based on our attention to detail, individual care and our emphasis on outdoor learning. This philosophy also enables the Nursery to build strong relationships with parents - a key factor in the Nursery's overall package of care. We know that to be able to ensure a child's individual needs are being met, working with, and listening to, parents is vital. We welcome comments and feedback and our parent emailing system ensures that the Nursery keeps an on-going stream of information and open dialogue.
